Herbal Tinctures

Black Walnut Tincture
Tintures are actually liquid extracts made from herbs. Usually they are extracted in alcohol, but they can also be extracted in vegetable glycerine or apple cider vinegar. Tinctures are easy and convenient to use and have a variety of uses. They can be used for relaxation, sleep and even for killing parasites in the body.
Find a healthy black walnut tree away from vehicle emmissions and pollution and harvest some green fruit. You will need a large jar and some Vodka.
Place the walnuts in the jar after giving them a quick rinse, and then pour the vodka over top until the walnuts are completely covered. Close jar tightly and store in a shaded place for 3-6 weeks. Place the liquid in a small, darken glass bottle and take 30 ounces per day. This will kill all parasites in your body.
Herbal Tintures can be made from almost any herb available.
Depending on what you are looking to accomplish or your preference of herbs, simply place your herbs in a bottle of your choice and size, and add your alcohol or Vinegar to the bottle, allowing full coverage of the herbs . (how much do you take and when do you take it?)
Glycerin can be taken internally or externally or it can be added to any herbal preparation. It can dissolve minerals, vitamins and mucilage. It's always best to use vegetable Glycerin for your Tincture.
Common sources of Glycerin are animal fat and vegetable oil. Glycerin is a clear, odorless liquid at room temperature, and it has a sweet taste. It’s most commonly used in soap and is also a common ingredient in many pharmaceuticals.
Tinctures are very easy to make. Find a gallon or a quart glass jar. Have your green freshly cut Horsetail, clean and ready to add to the jar. Use raw apple cider vinegar if possible and please avoid using white vinegar.
Direction:Within one to two hours of harvesting, chop the herb very fine and fill some bottles to the top. Then fill them up with a mixture of 30-40% alcohol with water. This will make approximately a 1:5 fresh horsetail tincture. The bottles should be stored in the dark and shaken once or twice per day for about a month. Then they can be left to sit for at least another two months. Read more... (i think you need to say what this tincture is used for and how much to take)
