Preparing the soil
Creating your boxes

I've learned a lot from watching the "Back to Eden Gardening" movie, and I was amazed at the lessons taught. I've also combined the knowledge of square foot gardening to get the best results possible. Gardening is fun and at the same time therapeutic. Gardening will make the Bible come alive to you. Jesus uses a lot of parables such as planting a field, reaping, etc. When you begin to work in the garden you will begin to understand God more clearly.

Create various boxes all with the same length (75') but different widths. Boxes of various widths will allow you to walk through the field easily, and also help you to organize your  plants and get to the weeds readily.

Make your boxes out of 8' posts and cut them to the sizes you need, then affix 90 degree metal angle brackets to hold them together.

After the boxes were installed and rich soil added, I levelled them off adding compost to them and removing any rock or wood from the soil, I proceeded to the next phase, which was adding news paper on top of the soil.

If you have a wooded area beside your house, use some soil from the ground mixed with dead leaves and branches etc to bring your box to half full. This kind of soil is great for planting. It will yield much for you.

The thrill of planting and watching your garden grow is very exciting. You've never and will never before experience this in your life.

This process is definitely like planting your seed of faith, as the Bible puts it. You plant not knowing what will happen next because after planting, God is in control, whether you want to believe it or not. You now have to learn to trust Him. The bible says faith without works is dead. James 2:14-26

After laying down paper on top of the soil, add about 3 - 4 inches of wood chips or dead leaves mixed with dead grass on top of the paper.

The purpose of this is to keep the ground moist and keep weed out of your garden, which in turn will lessen your maintenance activities.
